    Alliance for Limited Government to Host Forum for 5th State House District Candidates.

    April 19, 2010

    Alliance for Limited Government (ALG) will host a Candidate Forum at the Athens Recreation Center (next to Athens High School, at the intersection of Hwy 31 and 251), on Monday, May 3rd at 7 pm. Our invited guest speakers are all the 2010 candidates for Alabama State House District 5: Don Hudleston (R), Mayor Dan Williams (R), Steve Pepper (R), Jerry Hill (I), and Representative Henry White (D). The candidates will give a short presentation of their platform, after which the meeting chairman will present a number of questions on key freedom issues of importance to all Alabamians. As time allows, the audience will also be allowed to submit questions for the candidates. This Candidate Forum is presented to give voters an opportunity to get to know each candidate's positions before voting in the upcoming primary on June 1st, and it will also be a significant help to making informed choices in November. Join us for an informative evening and a chance to ask your questions of the candidates running for the 5th District of the Alabama State House.

    Alliance for Limited Government to Host Free Constitution Classes.

    January 20, 2009

    Alliance for Limited Government (ALG) will host a series of video classes on the U.S. Constitution at the Liberty House building on Hwy 72 (7845B Hwy 72) in Madison. These classes will be taught by noted author and Constitutional Expert John Eidsmoe. The classes will be held at 7 pm, on six consecutive Mondays: January 26 - March 2, 2009 (two 30-minute sessions per night). There is no charge for the classes, but a donation of $15 to cover the cost of provided materials would be appreciated. Plan now to attend this timely and informative seminar and gain a working knowledge of the Constitution and its foundational principles. Such knowledge by American citizens is critical to our continued enjoyment of the great freedoms on which our republic was founded.

    Alliance for Limited Government (ALG) will host a Candidate Forum in the Old City Council Chambers in Athens (203 N. Marion Street), on May 19th at 7 pm. Our invited guest speakers are all the 2008 candidates for U.S. Congressional District 5: George Barry (R), Cheryl Baswell-Guthrie (R), Parker Griffith (D), Mark Huff (R), David Maker (D), Angelo Mancuso (R), Ray McKee (R), and Wayne Parker (R). The candidates will give a short presentation of their platform, after which the meeting chairman will present a number of questions on key issues such as Immigration, Eminent Domain, Real ID, etc. The audience will also be allowed to question the candidates. This Candidate Forum is presented to give voters an opportunity to get to know each candidate's positions before voting in the upcoming primary on June 3rd, and it will also be a significant help in making informed choices in November.

    Alliance for Limited Government to Host "Tea Party" Rally Opposing August 14th Tax Increase.

    July 25, 2007

    Alliance for Limited Government (ALG) will sponsor the "Athens Tea Party" on the eastside steps of the Limestone County Courthouse in Athens, August 4th at 2 pm. Our featured speaker will be the 2006 Republican candidate for Alabama House District 5, Ronnie Coffman. This high-priority rally is in opposition to the proposed sales tax increase to be voted on August 14, 2007.

    Join Limestone County Freedom Lovers in the battle to both highlight and defeat this ill-advised effort to increase sales tax by sixteen percent.

    The Alliance for Limited Government (ALG) of Madison/Limestone counties will be hosting a political forum, Monday, April 16, 2007 at 7 pm at the Madison City Hall council chambers. Senator Arthur Orr and Representatives Micky Hammon and Mac McCutcheon will present a Legislative Update from this current session as well as address local issues and concerns.   • Athens, Alabama - October 11, 2006

    Alliance for Limited Government will host a Candidates' Forum October 16, at 7 PM, at the Athens Rec. Center next to Athens High School, at the intersection of Hwy 31 and 251. Candidates in the upcoming election from this area will be questioned about their stand on a number of important issues relating to personal freedom and the sovereignty and economic health of the United States. Tom Butler (D), Jim Burden (R), Bobby Day (D), Arthur Orr (R), Sue Mitchell (D), Mickey Hammon (R), Henry White (D), Ronnie Coffman (R), and Mac McCutcheon (R), have been invited. Of special interest will be topics such as Home Rule, Eminent Domain, Illegal Immigration, and Annual Property Appraisal. The audience will also be allowed to present questions to the panel of candidates. Citizens who are concerned about issues vital to them will want to attend this meeting. It should be a substantial help in making informed choices at the polls on November 7.
