That the sole object and only legitimate end of government is to protect the citizen in the enjoyment of life, liberty, and property, and when the government assumes other functions it is usurpation and oppression.

The 10 things that the politicians and education bureaucrats don't want you to know about.

by ALG Patriot Bruce Gant

1) $140 million* surplus in the Alabama education fund.

2) Public schools already receive more taxpayer dollars than ever in the history of public education.

3) A local public school tax was just renewed February 15, 2005.

4) Amendment 2 passed statewide November 7, 2006 raising Limestone County property tax to 10 mils. Beneficiary: Public Schools

5) Annual property reappraisals now underway are increasing property taxes yearly for the first time ever. Beneficiary: Public Schools

6) Exploding growth with new construction coupled with annual reappraisals and resulting annual property tax increases assures an inexhaustible, ever-growing source of revenue earmarked for: Public Schools.

7) Imposing additional sales tax on current Limestone County residents is unnecessary when new residents are bringing their tax dollars with them, offsetting new infrastructure costs.

8) A negative impact on local businesses as Limestone County residents begin to spend more of their income in adjacent counties with lower sales tax.

9) An increased tax burden on those who can afford it least. I.e. the poor and senior citizens on fixed incomes.

10) Soaring fuel prices are increasing the cost of everything from food to medical care to recreation. How incredibly foolish to voluntarily raise your cost-of-living further by voting for a sales tax increase out of misguided benevolence.

CONCLUSION

The public education funding crisis is a myth. It is a cleverly designed scam to justify tax increases that well informed voters don't fall for.
Tax increases are permanent. Do you think your great-grandchildren will be able to afford it? Considering the cost-of-living now, will you even be able to afford it?
It has been wisely stated, you can't tax a society into prosperity. But you can most certainly destroy a middle class society with rampant taxation.
