Beneficiary: Public Schools 5) Annual property reappraisals now underway are increasing property taxes yearly for the first time ever. Beneficiary: Public Schools 6) Exploding growth with new construction coupled with annual reappraisals and resulting annual property tax increases assures an inexhaustible, ever-growing source of revenue earmarked for: Public Schools. 7) Imposing additional sales tax on current Limestone County residents is unnecessary when new residents are bringing their tax dollars with them, offsetting new infrastructure costs. 8) A negative impact on local businesses as Limestone County residents begin to spend more of their income in adjacent counties with lower sales tax. 9) An increased tax burden on those who can afford it least. I.e. the poor and senior citizens on fixed incomes. 10) Soaring fuel prices are increasing the cost of everything from food to medical care to recreation. How incredibly foolish to voluntarily raise your cost-of-living further by voting for a sales tax increase out of misguided benevolence. CONCLUSION The public education funding crisis is a myth.
