Why we are opposed to 'Real ID'

Summary - The state of Alabama began collecting biometric information on unsuspecting citizens in 2005. The Alabama Department of Transportation, Driver License Division installed new camera equipment in all county offices that issue driver licenses. These digital cameras are recording "facial recognition" information and storing it in data banks. There are no notices posted to inform driver license applicants that they will be relinquishing biometric information when they have their license picture made. Our right to privacy is being violated by this procedure.
